As her conduct continued in the Linz Open coco Gauff has reached a WTA Tour events semi-finals for the first time.
Even the American, 15, beat top seed and world number eight Kiki Bertens, of the Netherlands, 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 at Austria.
It had been Gauffs first win over a participant, in an event in which she just came to the draw as a lucky loser.
Im very happy and proud of myself, said Gauff, that can face Germanys Andrea Petkovic from the semi-finals on Saturday.
She becomes the youngest player to reach a semi-final about the WTA Tour since the Czech Republics Nicole Vaidisova won in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Via the tie-break convincingly, Gauff arrived after a tight first set. She caught the only break of serve in the second set and then held her guts for a memorable triumph.
It continues the breakthrough season in Gauffs fledgling career after she reached the final 16 at Wimbledon, which included a win over five-time former champion Venus Williams, and got into the next round in the US Open.
