The Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series is coming off the longest race of the program with Martin Truex Jr. outlasting the remainder of the field to grab his third checkered flag of the season at Charlotte Motor Speedway and that he looks for back-to-back wins this week at Pocono Raceway. Kyle Busch tamed the Tricky Triangle past July and he’s a +300 preferred to repeat this weekend.
Intertops has Busch favored at +300 followed by Kevin Harvick at +450, Martin Truex Jr. in +500, Brad Keselowski in +650, Joey Logano at +900, Chase Elliott in +1000, Denny Hamlin in +1200, Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney in +2000, and Kyle Larson and Clint Bowyer in +2200 to round out the leading drivers on the oddsboard.
Standout Stats
Toyota has won each of the previous few races at Pocono Raceway, Ford won 2 in a row before that and Chevrolet won seven of eight prior to that.
The winner has qualified beyond the top five in seven of the last 11 runnings at the Tricky Triangle.
There has not been a back-to-back winner at Pocono because Dale Earnhardt Jr. did so in 2014.
Kyle Busch has finished on the podium in each of the last few races at this track, including two victories. He’s also led at least one lap in each of the previous seven races there. Before the last 3 races, however, Busch finished outside of the top 10 in four runnings.
Daniel Suarez finished outside of the top 15 in his two spring runnings at Pocono but finished seventh and second in both summer races . He finished one place behind Busch at the previous race in the Tricky Triangle.
Alex Bowman ended third in the last race in Pocono but ended 25th or worse in his additional five starts at this track.
Martin Truex Jr. won the spring running at the Tricky Triangle last year and has led a minumum of one lap at six of the past eight races there. He has also finished outside the top five in five of the last seven races at Pocono.
Brad Keselowski has directed a minumum of one lap in 11 of the last 15 races at Pocono Raceway and has finished inside the top five in six of the last seven runnings in the Tricky Triangle.
My Very Best Bet for your Pocono 400:
Brad Keselowski +650
He has been absolutely consistent at Pocono Raceway, constantly finding himself at the front of the package at a certain stage in the race and typically from the hunt to win it . Keselowski has already secured three wins this season and five top-five finishes as well. Lastly, Ford has seen a lot of speed at the 1.5-mile and two-mile monitors this season and that I expect them to be aggressive on Sunday.
