Investec Oaks heroine Anapurna Appears set to take on her Kerrygold Irish Oaks-winning stablemate Star Catcher in the Qatar Prix Vermeille at ParisLongchamp on Sunday.
The John Gosden-trained fillies are absent since their Classic triumphs, but stay on course to battle from the mile-and-a-half Group One prize at the weekend.
It is something that has just recently come on to this agenda for Anapurna, as stated by the Newmarket handler, although the choice was a straightforward one for Star Catcher.
Gosden said:”They are looking towards the Vermeille at the present time. Star Catcher always went into the Vermeille.
“When Magical and Empower turned up at the Yorkshire Oaks, it looked a tiny bit unfair to put Anapurna against two elderly fillies of that class on her run back because the Oaks.
“She’s been in great form and she will most likely run there, then at Ascot. She had time off after Epsom, as she had been busy early on.”
Enbihaar will plan to withstand a penalty when bidding for a Group Two hat-trick at the DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday, before a potential Group One participation.
Gosden said:”We intend to go to the Park Hill with her. She could well visit the (Prix) Royallieu (at ParisLongchamp around October 5) too, because she has three months between races.
“We’d thought about Ireland, but we decided to stay here and take the penalty”
