Alex Iwobi feels like he’s discovered a”new house” at Everton after his Deadline Day transfer and discuses the way he’s accommodated Merseyside.
The forward made a proceed to Goodison Park which makes Arsenal – where he has played since the age of eight – to unite Everton for a #35m charge.
The Nigeria international claims he has settled in well to his new environment, but doesn’t believe there is a lot of gap between London and Liverpool.
He advised Soccer Saturday:”It’s so far, so good, I feel as if I’ve got a new home and I’m really comfortable here.
“I got several phone calls [about the deal] and spoke to my agent – it took on a day of speaking to the supervisor and speaking to Marcel Brands. It was not really hard and I got positive.
“I was really comfortable [in Arsenal] and I was on vacation so I did not think of any movement. I thought about if this could be a chance for me to improve myself as a participant and got the phone. I thought this was a huge opportunity and it shouldn’t turn down. I have no regrets about the decision.
“The fantasy which Marco Silva has persuaded me – the driveway, what he wishes to achieve and the way he saw me in his plans, I feel as I am able to help him achieve that. In training, he demanding, constantly hoping to get the best out of us and it is good for your group.
“I have not noticed a lot of gap [between Liverpool and London] however what that I struggle with is your accent here. If Duncan [Ferguson] spoke to me firstI had to hear and participate and I was not sure so I simply agreed, what he’d said. It is adapting to this but aside from that, it is nearly the same as being in London.
“So far, I’ve been treated very well. It is a family and everybody treats you like familymembers. Though it’s different to Arsenal, I am enjoying it.”
Iwobi has made three appearances for Everton thus much and has scored – both headers. The 23-year-old admits that it is not his method of locating the web, but is very happy to get off the mark for his new club.
“To score against Lincoln and dent against squirrels together with my head, that is a bit different, it’s an excellent feeling and there is more to come,” he further added.
“I just formally had a single header for Arsenal two per week is not bad. We had a couple of drills together with crossing and completing and my heading was not the best – I had a few who went wild. So for me to score two, they laughed at me saying’wow’. However, as long as it goes in, it doesn’t matter, that’s exactly what they told them.
“Wherever I go, I’ll always do my best for the club and Everton are the club I am representing. I feel at home and I will always want to show them that I feel like an Evertonian now.”
Next up for Everton is really a visit to Bournemouth – live on Sky Sports – however Iwobi understands it will not be a simple match on the south shore.
He said:”It’s a different game and another large opportunity to receive three factors. It is not going to be simple, Bournemouth have great players as well but we’ll compete and try and find a result.”
