Brazil drew 1-1 at a streak extended to three games, the greatest since trainer Tite took over at 2016 with Senegal.
He was not able to match the success with a win against a more tenacious Senegal side, although it turned out to be a special occasion for Neymar, that became the seventh person to win 100 caps for Brazil.
Liverpools Roberto Firmino started the scoring for Brazil after eight minutes when he ran on to a pass and cracked the ball.
Senegal levelled about the stroke of half-time with a punishment from the Famara Diedhiou of Bristol City after Marquinhos attracted down the Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane of Firmino.
Both sides had chances to a winner and Senegal will rue missing an opportunity to beat the five-time world champions.
The highest-ranked staff of africa paired a full-strength Brazil throughout, and Mane almost grabbed a winner if he hit the post.
The draw includes three months following Tite led Brazil to the Copa America name at home and follows last months 2-2 draw with 1-0 defeat and Colombia to Peru.
