Lionel Messi admitted he doesn’t think Barcelona did”all they might” to deliver Neymar back to Spain from Paris Saint-Germain summer time.
Neymar was the subject of one of the longest-running transfer sagas of this summertime, together using the Brazilian appearing set to return to Catalonia two decades.
But, Sky Sports News reported two weeks ago that PSG’s unwillingness to reduce their valuation, despite Neymar’s offer to cover #17.7m ($20m) towards procuring a bargain, guaranteed the movement failed to materialise.

“I’d have liked for Neymar to have returned,” Messi told Spanish publication Sport. “Honestly, I am not sure if Barca did whatever they could to signal him but I am aware that it is tricky to negotiate with PSG.
“I am not disappointed. We have a squad which could challenge without Ney, even for all.
“Neymar is one of the finest on the planet. With his level and sponsors, it could have been a significant gain for the club.”
Messi is under contract before 2021 but has a clause inserted in his deal which could see him leave the Nou Camp for nothing in the close of the season.
The club have reiterated they remain confident their inspirational captain will remain beyond the summertime, also Messi himself confirmed he has no plans to find pastures new.
“Barcelona is my house and I do not want to depart,” Messi added. “But I want to acquire. I wish to win the Champions League, it’s been a very long time since we won it”
