While Lu Sierra functioned as commentator, all for the 2nd consecutive time, nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey served as hosts. On March 28, 2019, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) confirmed that the pageant will be held on May 2 in the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, this was the ninth time Nevada hosting the pageant instead of Las Vegas, which was hosted earlier. Following the announcement of Reno being chosen as the competitor’s host town, it emerged that the MUO were initially considering holding the contest in Honolulu, Hawaii. The plan was rejected by Hawaiian officials and jumped to Reno by the MUO following the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) reported They would be Not Able to secure the funds to sponsor the contest the MUO had requested, adding that they’d be interested in hosting the 2020 contest
