NASCAR: Busch Still Favored To Win 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup

The Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs are just eight months away and Kyle Busch is your +250 preferred to lift the trophy at the end of the season. But he paths reigning champion Joey Logano at the standings at the point and you can get Logano in +800.
Intertops has Busch as the favored in +250 followed by Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. in +600, Brad Keselowski and Logano in +800, Chase Elliott at +900, and Denny Hamlin in +1600 to round out the leading drivers on the oddsboard.
No Value On Harvick
Despite being able to locate Kevin Harvick third in the Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings, I think he’s extremely overvalued at +600 to win the championship this season. He’s not the dominant force he’s been over the last few years, failing to push into victory lane yet this season and with just five top-five finishes and three stage wins.
I really do believe Harvick will qualify for a playoff place unless something catastrophic happens over the next few weeks, but advancing through the playoff stages will probably prove difficult if he can not find his mojo from this past year. That having been said, keep an eye on him as the year progresses if he can get back into a groove, as he’s finished on the podium in Homestead-Miami, the final race of this year, in four of the previous five races.
Busch Has Been Competitive At Homestead-Miami
There is no question that Kyle Busch will be in the playoffs and will probably be up on the wheel seeking to advance through the stages. The Nevada native is tied with Martin Truex Jr. for the season high in wins so far, with each catching four checkered flags. Furthermore, he has the very top-five and top-10 finishes this season.
What makes Busch a good wager is that when it comes to crunch time in Homestead-Miami to win the tournament, he’s quite strong. He has finished in the top five in four of the previous seven runnings at that track, leading laps at each of the previous four, and he even won the 2015 race. I really don’t like to bet on a futures contract with such low likelihood of +250, but it may be the best price you can get him he will definitely be in the hunt.
