Once Again, Kyle Busch is Top of the Oddsboard for the Pocono 400

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is coming off the longest race of the schedule with Martin Truex Jr. outlasting the rest of the area to grab his third checkered flag of the season at Charlotte Motor Speedway and he now looks for back-to-back wins this week at Pocono Raceway. Kyle Busch tamed the Tricky Triangle last July and he’s a +300 preferred to repeat this weekend.
Intertops has Busch favorite at +300 followed by Kevin Harvick in +450, Martin Truex Jr. at +500, Brad Keselowski at +650, Joey Logano in +900, Chase Elliott at +1000, Denny Hamlin in +1200, Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney in +2000, and Kyle Larson and Clint Bowyer in +2200 to round out the leading drivers on the oddsboard.
Standout Stats
Toyota has won each of the previous few races at Pocono Raceway, Ford won two in a row before that and Chevrolet won seven prior to that.
The winner has qualified outside of the top five of the last 11 runnings at the Tricky Triangle.
There has not been a back-to-back winner at Pocono since Dale Earnhardt Jr. did so in 2014.
Kyle Busch has finished on the podium at each of the previous three races at this track, including two victories. He’s also led at least one lap in each of the previous seven races there. Prior to the previous 3 races, however, Busch finished outside of the top 10 in four runnings.
Daniel Suarez completed outside of the top 15 in both spring runnings in Pocono but finished seventh and second in the two summer races there. He finished one place behind Busch in the last race at the Tricky Triangle.
Alex Bowman finished third in the last race in Pocono but finished 25th or worse in his other five starts at this course.
Martin Truex Jr. won the spring operating in the Tricky Triangle last year and has led at least one lap in six of the last eight races there. He’s also finished outside of the top five in five of the last seven races at Pocono.
Brad Keselowski has directed at least one lap in 11 of the past 15 races at Pocono Raceway and has finished within the top five of the last seven runnings at the Tricky Triangle.
My Best Bet for the Pocono 400:
Brad Keselowski +650
He has been absolutely consistent at Pocono Raceway, always finding himself in the front of the pack at a certain stage in the race and typically from the hunt to win it outright. Keselowski has already secured three wins this year and five top-five finishes as well. Lastly, Ford has found a lot of speed in the 1.5-mile and two-mile tracks this year and I expect them to be competitive on Sunday.
