Sands Of Mali to defend crown in Ascot feature

Sands Of Mali is being prepared to replicate last year’s victory in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot second month there.
Trainer Richard Fahey reported the four-year-old to get recovered in the aggravation he endured beaten in the King’s Stand Stakes.
The Musley Bank handler is confident his top-class sprinter can put that setback behind him.
“He came from Ascot a bit sore, but he is grand now and back complete in training,” said Fahey.
“The race in Ascot will be his goal. I’m sure he’ll return.”
Week space Traveller is on track to go on a trip to Ireland for the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes on Saturday.
Connections are keen to head above a mile at Leopardstown for the Group 2, since Space Traveller’s proprietor Steve Parkin sponsors the race beneath his Clipper Logistics banner.
“We’re contented with him. He’s in the Boomerang and whether the ground is not too soft he’ll probably go there.
“Steve maintains the race,” said Fahey.
