Steve Smith No 1 in Test batting rankings as Virat Kohli slips to second

Steve Smith has regained top position from the ICC Test.
Following the latter captured a duck in the second innings of both India over West Indies in Jamaica, smith missed the third Ashes Test at Headingley however has toppled Kohli.
The Australian leads the way together with Kohli, with 904 things a spot back to 903 points along with New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson in place in 878 points.
Smith – who has graduated 144, 142 and 92 in his three innings in this Ashes series – could add to his tally through the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford this week however Kohli is not back in Test actions until India sponsor South Africa in October.
Smith originally became No 1 at December 2015 if Smith was due to his single-family ban following the scandal but he was overtaken by Kohli in August 2018.
After finishing a century and two rebounds in four innings in the 2-0 series win over West Indies in the Caribbean four places have climbed in 11th to seventh.
Jason Holder and jasprit Bumrah have climbed together with Bumrah up from seventh to third and Holder moving from 11th to fourth, into the top five of their Test bowling rankings.
India seamer Bumrah picked up six wickets, including a hat-trick, in West Indies’ first innings at Jamaica, while 5-77 was bagged by Windies skipper Holder in India’s opening dig.
Australia’s Pat Cummins (908 factors ) tops the standings, followed by South Africa’a Kagiso Rabada (851) along with Bumrah (835), with Holder and James Anderson tied for fourth (814).
Holder remains the, with Ben Stokes, Shakib Al Hasan, Ravindra Jadeja and Vernon Philander rounding out the top five.
